This is Stephen's first design on the bud vase and for once it came together quite quickly. The watchful pose of the mother Hedgehog fits the shape perfectly, as she protects three of her off-spring. A fourth has become a little more adventuresome and wandered off in search of those delicious slugs, which is why this declining species is so fondly welcomed to gardens.
